The Records & Information Management On-line Service (RIMOS) has moved to this location after a number of years residing on the server of the British Academy at its Regent’s Park headquarters, 20-21 Cornwall Terrace, London NW1 4QP. Heartfelt thanks are due the Academy for its kindness in hosting the Service for so long.

The Service was created and managed by The Caldeson Consultancy principal Michael Steemson with the help of members of the Records Management Society of Great Britain, the Institute of Information Scientists and others interested in records and information management.

The Service is intended to promulgate items of interest to the records and information management industry and to make the World Wide Web available to practitioners wishing to give their views and information a wider audience.

Development of the RIMOS will continue on these lines, under the benevolent control of a small editiorial board, members of which will be announced in due course. The Service hopes to be able to include items such as:

  • Conference and other papers from contributors;
  • Events and news of interest to record-keeping and information management professionals; and
  • Pointers to World Wide Web sites and gopher servers with material that records and information personnel will find useful.

This represents only an initial set of ideas. Other sorts of material will be added at later stages.
